Steve & Lucy's Wedding Album

I'm about to finish for Christmas but before I go I just need to put the final touches to Steve & Lucy's wedding album. I'll be emailing the proofs to them so they can agree the design before their main album and mini-albums are created. A selection of their pictures are shown in the video below.

Alex Comes Home

On 5th December Alex had to go into hospital with what turned out to be pneumonia caused by a flu virus. Thankfully she has now recovered and she has come home after spending 12 days in hospital. She’s had to put up with severe pain (and has been weened off the morphine!) and constant other aggros such as the lady in the bed next to her with the world’s loudest ring tone. Of course, she missed Poppy (3 ½) and Skye (2 months) hugely. Both girls have been amazing throughout. At first Skye joined me in the studio whilst Poppy stayed with friends for most of the weekend. Then my mother came over from Spain to help out and Alex’s parents returned from their cruise and pitched in as well. Huge thanks to everyone who has helped look after the girls, cheered Alex up in hospital or has sent us their best wishes - we really appreciate it!

Since Alex also works in the business, running the studio during the Christmas period has been pretty hectic. With only a few minor set backs we are on track to deliver everyone’s pictures in time for Christmas.

Sammy & Jo’s Wedding

Yesterday I photographed Sammy & Jo’s wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park. A great day! The weather was perfect (and we had hail this morning which shows how lucky we were). It was dry and bright and we were able to do some great shots outdoors. The venue was excellent as always. It’s a special place for me anyway having got married there myself but the people there are always brilliant and make everything run smoothly. Many thanks to Nelson and all the other staff for all your help. Thanks also to Elma (Barrett and Coe photographer) for your able assistance.

Week in Westminster

I've spent a lot of this week shooting the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association's 4th Governance Seminar. Around 50 MPs from around the Commonwealth have been visiting Westminster and City Hall to share ideas on governance. Next week they are off to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Brussels to continue their seminar.

There was lots of great discussion going on. Simon Hogart from The Guardian and Norman Smith from the BBC gave a fascinating talk about the influence of the media in government and how you can't always believe what you see on 24 hour news channels (not to mention blogs!).

Another highlight was hearing the youth choir from Anglesey. Having won a national competition they performed at the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday. The picture shows them with the Speaker, John Bercow; Leader of the House of Commons, Harriet Harman and Albert Owen, MP for Anglesey.

The bed pictured is in the Speaker’s residence within the Palace of Westminster. This is the bed in which a new monarch sleeps on the night before their coronation at Westminster Abbey.
